Exemptions from Part 1

FULL PART 1 EXEMPTION

The following applicants can enter directly into the 12 month Part 2 programme at Aston University:

- Fellows of the College of General Dentistry (FCGDent)

- Associate Fellows of the College of General Dentistry (AssocFCGDent)

For this exemption applicants do not need to take Part 1.  Applicants will enter directly into Part 2

PARTIAL PART 1 EXEMEPTIONS

The following applicants can apply for up to 75 credits (5 modules) exemption from Part 1:

- Holders of an accredited Level 7 Diploma (PGDip) in any relevant area of dentistry

At least 1 module must be taken in Part 1 with this exemption

The following applicants can apply for up to 60 credits (4 modules) exemption from Part 1:

- Members of the College of General Dentistry (MCGDent)

- Holders of an accredited Level 7 Certificate (PGCert) in any relevant area of dentistry

At least 2 modules must be taken in Part 1 with this exemption

IF APPLYING FOR EXEMPTIONS:

1.  CONTACT US with details of your quaifying exemption.  We will advise you if you would qualify for full or partial exemptions for Part 1.  If partial exemptions are applicable, we will advise which Part 1 modules need to be taken.

2.  Apply using the button below.  On the application form, tick that you are applying for an APL exemption

Norrmally the Level 7 Certificate (PGCert) or Diploma (PGDip) would have been awarded within the previous 5 years to qualify for an Approved Prior Learning (APL) exemption.
